County Approves $900,000 for Rancho Cucamonga Family Resource Center Improvements

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has approved spending $900,000 on upgrades at the Rancho Cucamonga Family Resource Center

Rancho Cucamonga, CA — The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors has approved $900,000 in funding for upgrades to the Rancho Cucamonga Family Resource Center and Neighborhood Center, a community facility that provides services and programs for residents throughout the city and surrounding areas.

The funding was approved during the board’s June 9 meeting and comes from Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez III’s District Specific Priorities Program, according to county records.

The money will be provided to the City of Rancho Cucamonga to support improvements at the center, located at 9791 Arrow Route.

Planned improvements include roof replacement, exterior painting, new signage, restroom upgrades, landscaping, parking lot paving and the purchase of furniture and equipment.

County officials said the project is intended to improve the facility’s functionality while helping reduce long-term maintenance costs and improve operational efficiency.

The Rancho Cucamonga Family Resource Center serves as a community hub that hosts social service programs, recreation activities and community events.

The facility has long been used by residents seeking access to local resources, educational programs and neighborhood services.

City officials have also explored expanding programming and improving the site through community engagement efforts in recent years.

“This investment is about making sure families and residents in Rancho Cucamonga have access to safe, welcoming and functional community spaces,” Armendarez stated in a press release. “The Family Resource Center is more than a building, it is a place where residents can connect with services, participate in programs and come together as a community.”

According to county officials, the project will be completed through a partnership between the county and the City of Rancho Cucamonga.

The agreement runs from June 9, 2026, through June 8, 2028, giving the city approximately two years to complete the improvements.

The funding was among several community investments approved through Armendarez’s District Specific Priorities Program during the June 9 meeting.

The program allows county supervisors to direct funding toward projects and organizations that address local needs within their districts.

During the same meeting, the board also approved funding for a water safety education initiative through the West End YMCA, literacy efforts in the Upland Unified School District and workforce development programs through the Fontana Chamber of Commerce.

Armendarez said the investment reflects broader efforts to support infrastructure and community resources throughout the Second District, which includes Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Upland and neighboring communities.

“Government works best when we invest directly in the spaces and services that improve quality of life,” Armendarez said. “Whether it is public safety, infrastructure, parks or family resources, my priority is making sure the Second District receives the support it deserves.”

Community centers such as the Rancho Cucamonga Family Resource Center often serve as gathering places for residents, nonprofits and local agencies.

In addition to hosting programs and events, they can provide space for outreach efforts, educational workshops and family-focused activities that connect residents with available services.

The upgrades are expected to enhance the overall experience for residents who rely on the center’s programs and services while ensuring the building remains a valuable community asset for years to come.

Construction schedules and project milestones will be determined as the city moves forward with implementation of the improvements under the county-funded agreement.
