Co-Pastors, Tommy and Kimberly Morrow

Anniversary Celebration Will Bring Congregation and Community Together for Two Special Services Sunday

Upland, CA — Victory Community Church will celebrate 35 years of faith, ministry and community service this weekend with a special anniversary celebration recognizing three and a half decades of spiritual leadership and commitment to serving families throughout the Inland Valley, the Inland Empire and beyond.

The church’s 35th Church Anniversary, themed “35 Years of Grace, Glory and God’s Goodness,” will take place Sunday, August 23, at The Element Hotel Ontario, 900 Via Piemonte in Ontario. The celebration will feature two worship services. The morning service begins at 10 a.m., followed by an afternoon service at 3 p.m. All are welcome.

Led by Co-Pastors Tommy and Kimberly Morrow, Victory Community Church is inviting members, former members, friends, families and the broader community to join the congregation for these special worship services commemorating a significant milestone in the church’s history.

For Pastor Tommy Morrow, the anniversary represents more than the passage of time. It is an opportunity to reflect on the people, families and relationships that have shaped Victory Community Church throughout its history while looking ahead to the ministry’s next chapter.

“Thirty-five years is not simply a celebration of how long Victory Community Church has existed; it is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and to the people who have walked alongside us throughout this journey,” said Pastor Tommy Morrow. “We have seen generations of families come through this ministry, and as grateful as we are for where God has brought us, we believe there is still so much more work for us to do.”

From its beginning, Victory Community Church has centered its ministry on the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18–20. Its mission has remained to exalt the Savior, equip and empower the saints, and evangelize those who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

That mission is reflected in the church’s longtime motto: “People Discovering Purpose and Developing Faith.”

“The journey has been a walk of faith from the beginning,” said Raella Ballinger, Church Administrator, reflecting on the congregation’s history and the many milestones it has experienced over the years. “The miracles are too numerous to mention.”

Victory has grown into a multiethnic, Bible-believing community church with a ministry that reaches far beyond Sunday worship. Throughout its history, the church has emphasized both spiritual development and service to the surrounding community.

That commitment has been recognized by leaders throughout the region. Reflecting on Victory’s community presence during an earlier milestone in the church’s history, Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren said, “Victory Community Church has provided 35 years of community service, not only spiritually, but they have also participated in many areas within the community.”

Over the years, the church has also been strengthened by a committed core of leaders and faithful members who have embraced the vision of its pastoral leadership. That partnership among pastors, ministry leaders, members and families has helped sustain Victory through different seasons while allowing the church to continue expanding its reach.

This year’s anniversary will also place service at the center of the celebration through Victory’s “35 Acts of Kindness and Service Project.” The initiative encourages members to commemorate each year of the church’s ministry through acts that positively impact individuals and families throughout the community.

The project reflects a philosophy that has been woven throughout Victory’s history: celebrating what God has done while continuing to serve others.

The anniversary celebration will begin at 10 a.m. with guest speaker Dr. Kelly Broussard of Christ First Baptist Church in Compton.

Broussard shares a particularly meaningful connection to the congregation. She is affectionately recognized as Victory Community Church’s “first baby born in the congregation,” making her participation in the 35th anniversary an especially fitting reflection of the generations touched by the ministry.

Broussard was licensed to the ministry at Victory Community Church last year and now serves alongside her husband, Minister Daniel Broussard, at Christ First Baptist Church in Compton where  Pastor John A. Kenney Jr. is the Senior Pastor.

The celebration will continue at 3 p.m. with Pastor Dr. Dwight Cooper of Community Baptist Church in Fontana serving as the afternoon guest speaker. Pastor Cooper is widely respected as a powerful preacher and Bible teacher whose ministry and influence extend throughout the region.

A luncheon will be held between the two services, giving members, former members and guests an opportunity to fellowship, reconnect and share memories from throughout Victory’s 35-year history.

The anniversary theme, “35 Years of Grace, Glory and God’s Goodness,” is rooted in Psalm 107:1–8, which calls believers to give thanks to God for His goodness, mercy and faithfulness.

For a congregation that describes its journey as one built upon faith, the passage carries special meaning as Victory looks back on 35 years of ministry.

The anniversary will honor the people who helped establish the church’s foundation, the members and leaders carrying its mission forward today, and the generations whose lives have been touched through its ministries and community service.

At the same time, church leaders see the milestone not simply as an ending point or retrospective celebration, but as preparation for what comes next.

After 35 years, Victory Community Church continues its mission of helping people discover purpose, develop faith and put that faith into action through service.

The Victory Community Church 35th Anniversary Celebration will be held Sunday, August 23, at The Element Hotel Ontario, 900 Via Piemonte, Ontario, California. The first service begins at 10 a.m., followed by a luncheon, with the second service beginning at 3 p.m.

Those unable to attend in person can view the services live through the church’s Facebook page, VCC Upland.
