Families cool off and enjoy an evening of swimming and summer fun at the Jerry Lewis Family Swim Center during San Bernardino’s Rodeo Summer Splash on Aug. 28. San Bernardino, CA — Dozens of San Bernardino families gathered at Jerry Lewis Swim Center on Aug. 28 for the city’sRodeo Summer Splash, where families celebrated a night of swimming, games, music, food, and family fun.
This free event was held by the San Bernardino Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department as part of thecity’s summer programming. Open to all ages, families were invited for a night of family fun, with a special western theme.
The western theme showcased workers dressed in western gear and cowboy hats along with western decorations including cow print and bandannas. The event also featured a western photo opportunity, prizes, and a horseshoe scavenger hunt.
The theme extended to the food, including barbecue items like hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, and macaroni salad.
Events such as the Rodeo Summer Splash are part of the city’s effort to provide free recreational and family-friendlyactivities to San Bernardino residents. These events are focused on building community within the San Bernardino area.
The event provided families and community members an opportunity to engage with one another. The western themealso provided a unique and fun spin on a traditional swim event.
A mother attending the event with her family said how much she appreciates the city’s effort to bring together San Bernardino residents.
“The event sounded really fun with the rodeo theme, I thought it was a good way to come out and engage with our community and enjoy summer while staying cool.”
The Jerry Lewis Family Swim Center is open for recreational swim on Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM to 2:30 PM aswell as from 3 PM to 4:30 PM. Prices for children and seniors range from $1 to $3. The center also provides swim classes.
The Rodeo Summer Splash gave local families a chance to have fun, cool off, and connect with their community.
