The Baptist Church of the New Covenant to Celebrate their Pastor’s 1st Anniversary

Norwalk, CA– Calling all family and friends!  You are personally invited to join in the celebration with the congregation of The Baptist Church of the New Covenant on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., for the 1st Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor Gerald and First Lady Brenda Dodd. This will be a full day of a celebration held at The Saddleback Hotel, 12500 Firestone Boulevard, Norwalk, CA 90650, in the Lavender Room. The speaker for this celebration will be Pastor Julius L. Dodd from Christ Our Redeemer AME Church in Irvine, CA.

 

The theme, “Celebrating our Pastor’s Spiritual Knowledge and Earthly Understanding” is taken from Jeremiah 3:15; “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”  All members and friends anticipate having a wonderful time of worship and fellowship, looking forward to the promise of the future.

 

Pastor Gerald M. Dodd and First Lady Brenda J. Dodd serve as the Pastoral leaders of The Baptist Church of the New Covenant in Norwalk, CA.   Members for 24 years, they served closely with Pastor Emeritus, Bishop L. Daniel Williams.

 

A native of Los Angeles, Pastor Gerald Dodd has served in ministry for over three decades. Beginning at Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, he served as a young adult Sunday School teacher, Youth Director and Men’s Bible Instructor. An ordained Deacon, he served for 4 years as Chairman of the Deacons Ministry.  After transitioning to The Baptist Church of the New Covenant, he served as Bible Instructor, Ministry Leader, Deacon, Treasurer, Church Administrator and Executive Assistant to the Pastor for 18 years. After being licensed and ordained, he presently serves as Pastor of the Baptist Church of the New Covenant.

 

A native of Portland, Oregon, Lady Brenda Dodd serves as the Christian Education Director. No stranger to service, she currently serves as the National Area VI Director of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc (TLOD), a national community service organization. Through TLOD, she heads the TLOD/UNCF Faith Based Initiative that encourages every church to have a UNCF Sunday to support the Historically Black Colleges. TLOD’s areas of concern are Community Partnership, Community Beautification, Senior Citizens, Status of Women and, her favorite, Top Teens of America. A member of the NAACP, National Congress of Black Women, NCNW and Parliamentarian of Gardena Ministers Wives and Widows, Lady Brenda is a Community Outreach Specialist for Inglewood Park Cemetery. 

 

Under the leadership of the Dodd’s, the members of New Covenant are encouraged to reach beyond the walls of the church to make a meaningful difference in the many lives of the people God brings into their presence.  The church is involved with several outreach activities that provide food, clothing and general donations.

 

Married for 36 years they are the proud parents of two sons, one daughter-in-law, two adopted daughters, three grandsons and two adopted granddaughters.
