Upland, CA — The 2019 Living Legacy Awards Reception was a true night to remember. We celebrated a group of individuals who are in a league of their own.

 

The Inland Valley News Inc. was thrilled to present its 2019 Living Legacy Awards Reception, held on Thursday,

February 28, 2018 at Inland Valley News’ Conference Center located at 2009 Porterfield Way; Suite C; Upland, CA 91786.

 

The 2019 Living Legacy Awards is a community program of the Inland Valley News. The event is one of the few true celebrations of the achievements and contributions of distinguished individuals whose impact and imprint have helped make this community the jewel of Southern California. This year, hundreds of registered guests, including leaders in business, education, housing, transportation, health care, government, church and media as well as other key decision-makers participated in this awards celebration.

 

The Living Legacy Awards Recipients were: Joseph Williams, (San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees) – W.E.B. Dubois Living Legacy Award; Sharon Shuff (The Ritz Salon) – Madam CJ Walker Living Legacy Award; Janice Barbee (Retired Educator PUSD) – Mary McCloud Bethune Living Legacy Award; Amelia Murray, M.D. (Kaiser Permanente Hospital) – Marilyn Gaston M.D. Living Legacy Award; Michelle Cammon, (Game Changers: Beyond the Classroom) –New Emerging Non-Profit Leader Award; Dominic Cohns & Jeremy Bringier, Sr. (Reach One Care) – Community Advocacy Award; Kwasi Osei, M.D. (Kaiser Permanente) – Charles R. Drew Living Legacy Award.

 

Congratulations to all our honorees and recipients of the 2019 Living Legacy Awards. We were so excited to have Regina Wilson, Executive Director of California Black Media cohost the evening alongside Kyle Webb, CFO of Webb Family Enterprises. The live entertainment was provided by Them Kool Kats. This night was legendary!

 

Thank you to all our guests and friends who were in attendance. Special thank you to all our program participants which included our illustrious Co-Hosts, Kyle Webb and Regina Brown Wilson, Upland Mayor Debbie Stone, Pastor, Dr. Julius West, and Cynthia Freeman Clay. We would also like to thank Shawna’s Catering for preparing a delicious soul food dinner for our guests to enjoy. Our event would not have been made possible without the help of the entire Inland Valley News team and our event coordinator Ms. Ta Mia Morrow.
