Valentine, the former frontwoman of the soul-funk-jazz band The Rebirth, unveils her new single “Lovin’ You” on October 7, via Matcha Entertainment, LLC. “Lovin’ You” was recorded between 2018 and 2022 and is the official kickoff to B. Valentine’s return as a soloist. After years of supporting her husband, Eric Valentine, to chart-topping Billboard success, together they serve as the track’s sole producers.

Putting her spin on Minnie Riperton’s timeless classic covered by so many, B. Valentine’s rendition is a melodic marriage between smooth jazz and orchestral soul sounds, sprinkled with blissful contemporary pop sensibilities. “Lovin’ You” not only serves as B. Valentine’s musical reintroduction, but her cover is one of purpose. She is releasing the single in observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). Simultaneously, “Lovin’ You” is also her way of honoring and sharing her appreciation for the late Minnie Riperton, who got her wings at age 31 after battling the disease.
