Ontario, CA — Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez organized the “Rise and Bloom” Women’s Luncheon to celebrate survivors who have overcome trauma and violence.

Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez (D-Ontario) organized the “Rise and Bloom” Women’s Luncheon on September 17th to honor survivors who have overcome trauma and violence and adversity. The event took place at The Ebell Historical Society of Pomona Valley from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The event united community leaders with service providers and public safety representatives and elected officials who dedicate their work to supporting women through recovery and healing processes.

The gathering served as a dual purpose to honor survivors while providing them with empowerment and renewal and creating a sense of unity. The event allowed participants to share their stories of survival while they discussed community care strategies and established relationships with organizations that deliver direct services to women and their families. The event brought a healing and motivational environment which honored survivors for their bravery and enduring spirit.

The speakers during the event stressed that recovery demands both community support and accessible resources and compassionate care from others.

Assemblymember Rodriguez stated that the event served to establish a support network which went beyond mere recognition. The women who received recognition have endured incredible hardships yet they keep moving forward with dignity and power. The event honored their bravery while we reaffirmed our dedication to provide full support for survivors who need to be seen and heard.

Rodriguez stressed the need for policymakers to unite with nonprofits and community members to develop a stronger safety network for survivors. She dedicated her legislative efforts to develop more resources for women who fight against domestic violence and human trafficking and homelessness and other institutional obstacles.

The leaders who attended the “Rise and Bloom” event established enduring connections which will persist after the luncheon. The representatives from shelters and health organizations and law enforcement and faith-based groups united to develop resource optimization plans and information sharing protocols and survivor advocacy strategies for upcoming advocacy campaigns.

The attendees recognized how such events establish trust while creating essential care networks which save the lives of women facing emergencies.

“This event was about more than just recognition, it was about creating a circle of support,” said Assemblymember Rodriguez. “The women we honored have faced unimaginable challenges and yet continue to rise with strength and grace. We celebrated their courage and reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring survivors are seen, heard, and supported.”

She declared that the work will persist after this moment. The district and state will receive our combined support for policies and programs which defend women and provide them with empowerment and protection.
