24th Annual Celebration of Excellence Awards Recipients Revealed!!

The Inland Valley News Inc. is thrilled to present its 23rd Annual Celebration of Excellence Awards Gala & Silent Auction is to be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Ontario Convention Center, 2000 East Convention Center Way, Ontario, California, 91764.

The Celebration of Excellence Awards Gala & Silent Auction is a community outreach program of the Inland Valley News sponsored together with not for-profit, public benefit 501(c)(3) corporation, Morrow Pancreatic Health Foundation. The event is one of the few true celebrations of the achievements and contributions of people who help make this community the jewel of Southern California. Last year, hundreds of registered guests, including leaders in business, education, housing, transportation, health care, government, church and media as well as other key decision-makers participated in this annual celebration.

The Publisher’s Awards Recipients are: The Honorable Malia Cohen, (California State Controller) – Publishers’ Choice; Khalid Shah (Stop the Violence, IE Violence Prevention) – Lifetime Achievement Award; Darren Knowles (Pomona Unified School District) – Emmett Terrell for Education Innovation Award; The Honorable Judge Denise McLaughlin-Bennett (Los Angeles County Superior Court) – Excellence in Jurisprudence Award; Rajeev Attam, M.D. (Kaiser Permanente) – Excellence in Healthcare Award; Rose Mayes (Riverside Fair Housing) – Excellence in Corporate Community Service; Tammy Tumbling (Community Foundation, Orange County) – Excellence in Philanthropy Award; and Kandee Lewis (Positive Results) – Excellence in Non-Profit Leadership Award. The Community Award recipients are: Frankie Lewis (Shepherd’s Nest) – John Futch Humanitarian Award; and Meagen Tandy (The Meagan Tandy Foundation) – Dr. Margaret Hill Community Leadership Award.

Congratulations to all our honorees and recipients of the 2023 Celebration of Excellence.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Morrow Pancreatic Health Foundation (MPHF) Inspired by Inland Valley News Founder and Publisher Emeritus, Tommy Morrow’s nearly fatal bout with severe narcotizing pancreatitis caused by prescribed medication, the Morrow Pancreatic Health Foundation will provide prevention, education, and awareness around pancreatic related illnesses to under-served communities and populations that are prone to inadequate healthcare.
