24th Annual San Gabriel Valley Bid Whist Awards Five Scholarships

San Gabriel Valley, CA — The San Gabriel Valley Bid Whist Club held its 24th Annual Scholarship Dinner and tournament on Saturday, June 2 in Walnut California. The club was founded in January 1994 by Richard and Wilma Nichols.  The purpose of the club is to get people who enjoy the card game of bid whist together and to support and encourage the youth in the community.

Five students were awarded scholarships.  Julien Jones of Rancho Cucamonga HighSchool in Rancho Cucamonga and Deija Monique Robins of Wilmer Amina Carter High School in Rialto, Ca both received $1000. Jonathan Johnson of James Monroe High School in North Hills, Ziana Symone Clark of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale and Zion Igwe of Santiago High School, in Corona all received $250.
