Greetings Readers, Friends, and Followers:

I am still on cloud 9 from the 19th Annual Celebration of Excellence Awards Gala and Scholarship Dinner which was held April 29th at the Double Tree in Ontario, CA. The room was filled with smile, laughs, heart felt remarks, and hope as we watched the Next Generation of World Changers take the stage.

It was a humbling experience to see all of you who came from near and far to gather for such a worthy cause. The Celebration of Excellence is an event that not only allows us to make an impact in the lives of underserved children in underprivileged communities, but it is an event that highlights the work of incredible people in our communities who many may not even know.

It’s quite refreshing to be in the same room as CEO’s of large corporations and business men and women and feel their presence close up rather than from a distance. Often times we read of such people and hear of their accomplishments but to have an up close and personal conversation makes all the difference. There has been long lasting partnerships and friendships birthed from the Celebration of Excellence that would have never been made had it not for people being in the room.

This event would have not been made possible had it not been for this year’s sponsors and supporters. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and kindness you have shown to us. The list of sponsors this year are as follows: Inter Valley Health Plan, Union Bank, Casa Colina, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Macy’s, Southern California Gas Company, the Fontana Police Association, Webb Family Enterprise, California State San Bernardino, CalPoly, University of LaVerne, Urban Philanthropy, Transcendence Children and Family Services, Southern California Edison, Chaffey College, Mt. San Antonio Gardens, Toyota, Wells Fargo, Azizi for Superior Court Judge, Hafif Foundation, Mark Christopher Chevrolet, the Community Foundation, GLP and Associates, University of LaVerne College of Law, Pete & Barbara McCormick Family Trust, Western University, Forgiving for Living, SRI Commercial Real Estate, California Black Media, and Molina Healthcare.

We are looking forward to our 20th Annual Celebration of Excellence Awards Gala and Scholarship Dinner in 2017!! We have already begun planning this momentous event. This event was just an image etched in my father’s heart and has known grown to the largest African American business led gathering in this valley. I say to you, daddy also known as Mr. Morrow, thank you for your vision, thank you for continuing to forge ahead when so many tried to stop you in your tracks. Thank you for entrusting me to carry on your legacy to the next phase. I love you! And I love the Inland Valley!

Until next time,
