Urban Philanthropy Executive Director to be honored by J.E.T.M.A.C. Inc.

Ontario, CA– Juneteenth Education Technology Mobile Arts Center, Inc., (J.E.T.M.A.C, Inc.,) /MLK Unity Breakfast Committee, would like to congratulate their nominated Honorable Awardees of the Year.  Mrs. Kim Evette Anthony, Urban Philanthropy, this award is for her outstanding contributions and hard work to create new Entrepreneurs in the community and abroad; Ms. Jeannetta Royston, President, Pomona Valley NAACP, for her steadfast effort to fight for equality and justice for the community to exemplify their civil rights and human rights as citizens; Atty. Legrand Clegg II, Historian, Writer, and Lecturer, this award is for his 47 years of lifetime work commitment as a lawyer, educator, and making a difference in people’s lives; and Mrs. Hilda Kennedy, Founder/President of AMPAC Tri State CDC as the Outstanding Community Service Awardee, who have helped with the financial expansion and growth of minority businesses.

J.E.T.M.A.C, Inc. and MLK Unity Breakfast Committee invites the you, the community and friends to come out to their “18th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Unity Breakfast and Tribute”, on Monday, January 21st, 2019, “Themed – A Time to Reflect and Forward the Torch”, at the Ontario Airport Doubletree Hotel, 222 Vineyard Ave. Ontario, CA. Doors open at 8:00am, Program starts at 8:30am to 10:30am.  Following is the Breakout room – Economic Education Panel speakers for ticket holders only, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Ticket donation is $38.00 General Admission, VIP $50.00 per person, or $340.00 for a table of (10). All donations are tax deductible.

Atty. Legrand Clegg, retired from 47 years of Civil Law, Historian and Writer, will be the Keynote speaker this year, speaking on “Understanding the Root of Racism.”  A performance by new Gospel Song Artist Sherri Bryant, and the return of Directress/Songstress Biddy Newborn, from Raleigh, North Carolina, director for the Renowned Shirley Caesar’s church, and other Inland Empire Choirs will be participating also.

Each year they strive to recognize the heroes of in the community. They recognize students who participate in the MLK Essay Contest and/or the Juneteenth Essay Contest and give the winners scholarship money.

On June 15, 2019, will be the “154th Anniversary of Juneteenth” which completes freedom for all people born on American soil, by way of the Emancipation Proclamation.  Globally, Ganesha Park in Pomona, CA has the only historic Juneteenth enshrinement representing the National Juneteenth Holiday Bill Observance for California.  Again, they will be celebrating the “29th Pomona Valley Juneteenth Freedom Day Jazz Festival”.  It will feature live entertainment, poetry, gospel, old school tributes, arts & crafts vendors, and fun for the kids.

J.E.T.M.A.C, Inc.  has a mission to keep the Juneteenth legacy alive, educating our youth, and our communities about its significance. Projects consist of distribution of Juneteenth Literacy Books into schools & libraries, the mobile education technology museum and learning center, the student business-training program, and scholarships for disadvantaged students.
